With just weeks to go until the release of their second studio album, The K’s reveal their latest track ‘The Bends (Here We Go Again)’.
Serving as the follow up to previous single releases ‘Breakdown In My Bedroom’, ‘Gravestone’ and ‘Helen Oh I’ – the latter an emotionally charged power ballad addressing the struggles faced by band frontman Jame Boyle as he tries to find both balance, and a sense of inner peace whilst navigating life in the fast lane – ‘The Bends (Here We Go Again)’ sees the group return to their signature guitar driven indie sound, coming correct with killer hooks, irrepressible guitar riffs and soaring melodies.

Commenting on the introspective track, Boyle says: “Throughout my adolescence, I spent a lot of time in hospital, most of it without any clear answers as to why my health was getting worse. I went through countless tests, scans, and surgeries in an effort to uncover the root of the problem. The pain was often so intense that I had to be given powerful drugs like morphine, which left me feeling completely out of it — dizzy, detached, and often unable to even sit up. ‘The Bends’ is about that disorienting, overwhelming feeling, and how being around a certain person can evoke that same feeling.”
Accompanying the single is a surreal music video directed by Geoff Owens. The clip draws inspiration from classic films such as A Clockwork Orange and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, showcasing the band’s eccentricities with a touch of theatrical rebellion.
Of the clip Owens says: “The band are known for their electric live shows and powerful on-stage chemistry, but this time we wanted to peel that back and reveal a different side to them: their personalities, their humour, and a slightly surreal edge that matched the tone of the track.”
“Visually, I drew inspiration from the bold stylisation of films like A Clockwork Orange and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest—cinema that isn’t afraid to push into the strange, the theatrical, or the provocative. We wanted the video to feel like a visual trip leaning into themes of rebellion, absurdity, and controlled madness, but always with a wink to the audience.”
