It seems we are now getting Eurovision news on a daily basis, and today is no different. Back in November last year, Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS announced that Waylon (William Bijkerk) would represent The Netherlands at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Tonight – four months later – the singer has confirmed he will sing “Outlaw In ‘Em” at the competition in May.
Over the last week, Walyon presented five songs from his upcoming album “The World Can Wait” on Dutch TV, before tonight confirming the song he will perform at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. The chosen song “Outlaw In ‘Em” is completely different to any of the selected songs for the contest thus far. It falls in the country rock genre, is incredibly catchy and instantly memorable with Waylon’s voice giving us goosebumps.
You can watch Waylon perform “Outlaw In ‘Em” below:
Waylon is no newcomer to Eurovision, having previously competed back in 2014 as part of The Common Linnets. Their performance of “Calm After the Storm” was one of the favourites in the contest and saw them take second place behind winner Conchita Wurst from Austria.
We think “Outlaw In ‘Em” could do really well at Eurovision and we cannot wait to see Waylon perform in Lisbon in May.
