The Spice Girls have announced they are to release a new and expanded 25th anniversary edition of their iconic 1997 album, ‘Spiceworld’.
Curated by the Mel B, Geri, Emma, Victoria and Melanie C, and set to be released Friday November 4th, 2022 via UMC/Virgin Records, the album looks set to bring together the bands original chart-topping record with some of their favourite bonus tracks and B-Sides, along with previously unreleased live recordings from the Virgin Records archive.
In a joint the ladies say: “The ‘Spiceworld’ era was such a fun time for us! We’d just had a number one album with ‘Spice’, we were travelling all over the world and meeting our amazing fans, we released our second album AND we had our very own movie! Who would’ve thought it? It’s crazy to think that 25 years have passed.”
The new ‘Spiceworld’ re-issue will be released in a Digital Deluxe Edition, 2CDs (with a special hardback book), a 2LP Deluxe Edition, as well as a Double Cassette, Picture Disc and a Clear Vinyl.
The digital deluxe edition of the album will feature a series of live songs recorded during the bands 1997/1998 tour of the UK, Europe and North America, along with a selection of B-sides, and new remixes. Also included is a demo version of ‘Step To Me’, a track the girls originally wrote and recorded as part of their partnership with Pepsi in the summer of 1997!
