The Vamps have announced they will be releasing their co-written and co-produced EP Missing You on April 19th. The release comes just prior to their Four Corners Tour kicking off on the 27th April in Plymouth.
Following on from the success of their Night & Day duo of albums, this EP sees the band going back to their roots. The Vamps are no strangers to collaborations with their latest being the most unexpected of all. Teaming up with Krept & Konan for Right Now, the track can be listened to on Spotify and downloaded now as an instant grat upon pre-ordering the new EP. We absolutely love this unexpected collaboration which was produced by The Vamps drummer Tristan Evans. The release is completed by three further tracks; title track Missing You, Waves written by bassist Connor Ball and an acoustic version of recently released All The Lies.
This release sees The Vamps going back to their earlier sound whilst highlighting their individual talents across songwriting, performing and production. When speaking of the EP, guitarist James McVey said “We’ve been keen to produce bits on all our albums, but decided to take the step and actually produce something in its entirety: the Missing You EP. We have done an album a year for the last five years too, so wanted to try something slightly different. The EP takes us back to how we started The Vamps: instruments and melody“.
With vocalist Brad Simpson adding, “It gave us the chance to experiment and although it’s a small batch of songs, it’s a very eclectic mix. Working in the dance world, with the Krept and Konan collaboration and then songs like Missing You and Waves, feel very true to where we are at as a four”. If stripped back and lyric focussed tracks are your thing, then this EP is definitely for you. Musically, these four tracks offer something for everyone whether you’re in to their new sound or their older style.
Missing You is available for pre-order now. For more details about The Vamps Four Corners Tour head here and grab your tickets.
