Earlier this week we told you how The Vamps were overtaking Ed Sheeran in the album chart mid weeks. It’s now been confirmed that their hard work has led to them getting this weeks number 1 spot with third album Night & Day. This means it’s The Vamps highest ever charting album and also their first number UK Album Chart Number One.
The quartet has spent the last two weeks relentlessly promoting the album up and down the country. Taking the album out on tour and performing it in full on their Up Close and Personal Tour, whilst finding time to do signings across the country, organise their own pop-up shop, drop into HMV for some work experience, perform on The Voice Kids Final and have a YouTube party last night with some familiar faces. All whilst promoting the album! The Vamps definitely don’t like to take the easy route when it comes to promo and we applaud them for it.
When speaking earlier about them claiming the top spot and ending Ed Sheeran’s reign at number one, the band said “The biggest of thankyous to our fans, this is all down to you. Thank you so, so much for all of you support. We love you and the second half will be coming very soon.” The Vamps have ended Sheeran’s 14-week reign at number one through their achievement.
Night & Day has been their most successful album to date, with over 3 million streams on All Night, the most pre-orders they’ve ever had on an album and collaborations with the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Mike Perry, Martin Jensen and Matoma. Here at CelebMix, we’d like to say the BIGGEST well done to The Vamps for their chart success, it’s entirely deserved and who knows what the rest of 2017 including the release of Night & Day (Day Edition) will hold.
