A huge congratulations are in order for The Vamps guitarist James McVey and his fiancée Kirstie Brittain who have announced their engagement through Hello! magazine.
When James was in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle viewers saw the heartwarming moment he was reunited with Kirstie after they were apart for the longest time since the start of their four year relationship. Seeing James struggling to be apart from Kirstie was a truly heartbreaking watch for fans but within the jungle, he developed a great support network to get him through his experience. Viewers saw football legend Harry Redknapp and James strike up a really lovely friendship. To the point that Harry even gave him recommendations on good jewellers to visit and met up with him in Bournemouth to help pick out the engagement ring. However, James explained to Hello! “By the time Harry arrived I had already chosen the ring; as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one. And Harry loved it too”.
James popped the question on a romantic break to the Lake District, speaking about the romantic moment to Hello! magazine Kirstie told them “At first I said, ‘what are you doing?’. I kept saying, ‘are you joking?’ And he hadn’t actually asked me to marry him because he was crying.“. James went on to explain “She said, ‘aren’t you going to ask me then?’ So I did.” and the rest truly is history!
