McFly released their debut album, ‘Room on the 3rd Floor’, 12 years ago.
It features some of the band’s biggest hits, such as, ‘Five Colours In Her Hair and ‘Obviously’. The album debuted at number one, breaking the world record for the youngest ever band with a number one album, a title previously held by The Beatles.
Over the past 13 years the band have achieved quite a bit. As of this year, the group have had 18 consecutive top 20 singles, with seven reaching number one in the UK singles chart. The band have currently sold more than 10 million records worldwide, as well as winning numerous awards.
Since releasing their debut album all those years ago, these four guys have released five studio albums, as well as a biography, ‘Unsaid Things: Our Story’, and have performed at a variety of charity events, including Comic Relief, Children in Need and Earth Hour, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be slowing down any time soon.
In November 2013, supergroup, McBusted were formed; McFly and Busted joined forces. The supergroup went on two UK tours, performing both band’s songs. Charlie Simpson was the only member not to participate in the supergroup. Since Charlie Simpson rejoined Busted in November 2015, McFly have made a return.
McFly will tour four cities in the UK late this year, performing at each city for three nights, with each night featuring a different set list from a different McFly album, along with the band’s biggest hits. On the first night of each city, ‘Room on the 3rd Floor’ will be performed in it’s entirety. Click here to see if you can still get tickets to catch McFly on their unique tour.
