Following the success of Burn the Stage: the Movie, K-pop group BTS is set to release another movie in cinemas. The film, titled BTS WORLD TOUR LOVE YOURSELF IN SEOUL, was shot at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul in August 2018 and captures the opening of the group’s current tour.
The movie will be released as a one-day only worldwide event on Saturday, January 26 and will also be available for Screen X viewing in equipped theatres in about 15 countries. The Screen X screenings will provide a unique immersive experience with its 3-side-surround, multi-projection technology. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the event’s official website LoveYourselfinSeoul.Film.
BTS’ previous theatrical release, Burn the Stage: the Movie, was originally released on November 15th with limited screenings. Due to popular demand, the movie had encore screenings earlier this month, leading to the film claiming the biggest-ever box office haul, surpassing that of One Direction’s concert film, One Direction: Where We Are. The film was based on the group’s YouTube series, Burn the Stage, which showed behind-the-scenes moments of BTS during their 2017 ‘Wings Tour’.
Although there are no details about the upcoming film, it seems that the release will showcase BTS’ concert performances, rather than behind-the-scenes of tour life.
