Those years of perfecting the dance to “Jingle Bell Rock” from the talent show scene might finally pay off! Fetch and a Mean Girls reunion movie might not be happening, but Tina Fey revealed that a Mean Girls Broadway musical is definitely happening!
Fey was out promoting her role in Whisky Tango Foxtrot at a New York Panel Series when the questions took a turn toward the rumored musical. At first she seemed reluctant to answer, but finally revealed the news and said:
“My husband [composer] Jeff Richmond and I, [along with lyricist] Nell Benjamin, have been working on it.”
Get excited! BUT she also did reveal that it’s going to be a few years until we get to see the plastics hit the Broadway stage and more then likely will NOT include the original cast that was in the beloved original movie.
