American singer & actress Tinashe has parted ways with her record label RCA.
According to a new report from Rolling Stone, “Her relationship with RCA was a long-term relationship, but they needed space,” Tinashe’s manager Mike Nazzaro said.
He also denied that the leave was a severance on the label’s behalf. “We initiated for her to be released. It was a positive split for her. It’s giving her back creative control”.
In 2018, the “No Drama” singer’s sophomore album “Joyride” was finally released after years of delays.
Tinashe then planned to follow this up with a new project “Nashe”. She released two singles, the slow but sassy “Like I Used To” & the catchy “Throw A Fit” however this was eventually shelved for unknown reasons.
Back in 2014, Tinashe released her first album “Aquarius” which featured the single ‘2 On’ which went on to be her biggest hit to date. She’s supported Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and Trinidadian born rapper Nicki Minaj on tour.
As well as her own world tour, she’s featured on tracks with Britney Spears, Nick Jonas, Charli XCX and Tinie Tempah. Tinashe is the R&B star we deserve.
Tinashe’s catalogue of music videos show off her skills as a dancer and performer while turning looks. We can only imagine what’s next for this superstar in the making.
