Tom Holland, the one time West End Billy Elliot now best known for his role in Ron Howards In The Heart of The Sea, confirmed that upcoming solo-Spiderman movie in which he will star will be titled Spiderman Homecoming, as reported last week.
The title was rumoured and reported last week when Sony Pictures, who will produces and distribute the film, registered the URL SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com, but although URL registration has frequently revealed a film title before an official release came, many used the fact that DC had registers eight separate URLs for their recently released Batman Vs Superman movie, subtitled Dawn of Justice, but not one of those registered URLs contained the words Dawn or Justice!
The title Homecoming references a 1980s Marvel Comic book starring Spiderman and featuring Cameos from both Iron Man and Captain America. With the recent confirmation that there will be appearances from more Marvel Heroes than Spiderman in the first edition of the newest Spiderman reboot, we could very well see the two make cameos on screen like they did in the comics, but with the pair about to go head to head in battle in Captain America: Civil War, with Spiderman taking Iron Mans side, it seems unlikely that both will make a cameo, if either of them do at all!
Both the new title and the font in which it is written seem to suggest that Marvel are keen to stick to their vision of a younger Peter Parker/Spiderman, after 32 year old Andrew Garfield, and his eagerly awaited third Spiderman movie, were cancelled by Sony in favour of a collaboration with Marvel.
