America experienced it’s deadliest shooting in history at a gay club in Orlando, Florida early Sunday morning. At least 50 people were killed and another 53 were injured when a man armed with a handgun and an assault rifle entered the club and opened fire on attendees. Comments from this mans family and those close to him report that he was extremely hateful, homophobic, and abusive. His father stated that only months ago, his son saw two men kissing, and became extremely upset and enraged, so it’s quite clear that his actions were a hate crime against the LGBTQ community.

Since news of this tragedy broke, people across the world have been showing endless love to those who were effected by the shooting. Twitter is blowing up with trending topics and Instagram is flooding with photos of support. Celebrities are taking to the internet and using their voices to speak up for the victims that lost their lives. Lines for donating blood in Orlando, Florida are continuing to grow throughout the day as people try to do all they can to help those who are still hospitalized.

The Tony Awards are being held tonight at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, and to honor the victims who were effected by the events in Orlando, Florida, the show will be dedicated to them.

The Tony Awards is an award show to honor those with great accomplishments on Broadway. With the large presence of members of the LGBTQ community in theatre, it’s only fitting that the show is held in honor of the victims of this tragedy. You can watch the show tonight on CBS.

Everyone here at CelebMix is keeping the people of Orlando, Florida and those in the LGBTQ community in their thoughts.
