2018 is officially coming to an end and it is time to go back through the year to talk about the best music videos that our favorite artists released this year.
God is a woman – Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande brought us many songs and accompanying visuals this year and God is a woman has to be our favorite music video. With powerful vocals and killer effects, Ariana Grande always brings her fans the best.
1999 – Charli XCX feat. Troye Sivan
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan take us back to the 90’s in their music video for 1999. The MV features iconic music videos, commercials, and pop culture events that happened in the late 90’s including movies such as Titanic and The Matrix, and music videos from TLC and the Spice Girls.
Side Effects – The Chainsmokers feat. Emily Warren
Riverdale star, Camila Mendes stars alongside The Chainsmokers and Emily Warren in their music video for their hit, Side Effects. Camila is shown dancing her heart out in the back of a hotel that she works at.
APES**T – The Carters
Located at The Louvre in Paris, France, The Carters take over the art museum for their music video, APES**T. The video features videos of famous paintings like the Mona Lisa.
I Like It – Cardi B feat. Bad Bunny and J Balvin
J Balvin and Bad Bunny join Cardi B in her music video for her smash summer hit, I Like It. The song comes from her album, Invasion of Privacy which was released earlier this year.
no tears left to cry – Ariana Grande
no tears left to cry was the first single from the Sweetener era and Ariana really brought it with this one. This introduced us to the “upside down” era where Ariana was shown walking on walls and ceilings. Wow!
FRIENDS – Marshmello feat. Anne-Marie
This official friend zone anthem is definitely one of our favorite songs and music videos this year, with Anne-Marie and Marshmello bringing us another iconic video.
Girls Like You – Maroon 5 feat. Cardi B
The Girls Like You visual is one of the many music videos this year that reached one billion views. A music video that’s also filmed in a circular, it features many recognisable faces including Camila Cabello, Aly Raisman, Gal Gadot, Millie Bobby Brown, Ellen DeGeneres and more!
Money – Cardi B
Cardi B did it again with one of the best music videos this year with her newest single, Money. Cardi’s outfit choices are more than iconic and the visuals are a 10/10. Cardi definitely ended the year off right with this music video.
thank u, next – Ariana Grande
Back in November, Ariana kept teasing her fans with sneak peaks and pictures from her music video for her single, thank u, next. Fans caught on that it would have a 2000’s chick flick vibe that featured iconic movies such as Mean Girls, Bring It On and others. The music video features celeb cameos such as Colleen Ballinger, Troye Sivan, and Aaron Samuels himself, Jonathan Bennett.
Even though these were only a few out of many music videos that came out throughout the year, there are plenty of other videos that we loved from our favorite artists.
