In honour of Tina Fey announcing that Mean Girls is becoming a musical we compiled a list of quotes from the movie that taught us a valuable lesson in life.

Love yourself because it is ok to appreciate yourself! In life we are far too hard on ourselves about how we look, no matter who we are. No matter what our size, gender, shape or otherwise it is ok to find yourself pretty, and we encourage it! You have only one body and one life, you should absolutely appreciate yourself and tell yourself you are beautiful at least once a day just as a healthy reminder. It is ok not to conform to the beauty standards of society – each and every one of us has a unique view on what we appreciate and think of to be pretty. Appreciating yourself starts with you, not what anybody else thinks! Remember, you are so fetch. (CelebMix just made Fetch happen and they told Gretchen it wouldn’t!)

If you feel like a friend is being mean, telling you what you can and can’t wear, they are not a friend. You can wear what you think and feel like you look good in and a friend should support that, even if they don’t agree. Regina doesn’t own Gretchen’s earrings so she shouldn’t get to say if she can wear them or not!

Parents are not always cool, they tell embarrassing stories about us and say things we often don’t agree with. When they tell those embarrassing stories they think they’re being cool by starting a conversation off with you and your friends they probably just want to fit in and have an interest in your life. Go on, go tell your parent that they are cool, just this once!

We don’t need to tell you this, all you need to know is that Kevin speaks the truth and you should listen to it. Don’t be personally victimized by your version of Regina! Not everybody will agree with you, it is impossible to please everybody at once. Every single person has an opinion, including you and even though people might not agree with you, you should do your own thing. Stand out, be yourself!

Revenge isn’t always sweet, it can hurt everybody involved. Sometimes the best thing to do is just let the hate go. Also, don’t take too much on, you have to focus on yourself and deal with what is happening now rather than dealing with what Regina said about you in The Burn Book. You’ll probably be a lot happier this way!

Listening to other people’s feelings and being nice to people so you don’t hurt their feelings is important, even if they don’t go here. People have feelings that are as valid as yours. Be kind to everybody, a person you meet in the street, a friend, family or even your teacher (though your teacher might not quite be as cool as Mrs Norbury!)
