Troye Sivan’s first new solo song of 2021, “Angel Baby,” is finally here! Coming one year after the release of his 2020 EP, In A Dream, this new track is an intimate one. The ballad is full of yearning and romance, bringing us a ton of cinematic 90’s synth glory.
“”Angel Baby” is my crack at an adoring, doting, love struck, mega pop, gay, power ballad. I thought we needed a few more of those,” says Troye. “I think I’m a romantic, and have definitely experienced all that comes with that over the last while. Sometimes I wonder if I’ve lost hope, and then I’ll write on a song like “Angel Baby” and let myself remember and daydream and fantasize for a second. Someone who feels like a holiday. That’s what we all deserve.”
So far Troye has amassed over 10 billion combined global streams throughout his career, and his recent collab with Regard and Tate McRae, “You,” has become a top 10 hit at Top 40 radio, marking the song his highest-charting single on the format.
We can’t wait to see what else Troye releases this year! We’re loving the vibes of this new era so far.
