Australian singer / YouTuber Troye Sivan has just released a new music video for his latest single “YOUTH.” The song is featured on Sivan’s debut album Blue Neighbourhood, which was released on December 4, 2015 through Universal Music Group. Sivan’s first full length album reached number one in ten countries on pre-order alone.
“YOUTH” has already had an incredible reaction from the public, making its way into mainstream radio play. The song was also certified as gold in Australia and New Zealand! Sivan has been working hard lately, promoting the single on various television shows. This single follows up Sivan’s previous release, “Talk Me Down.”
When asked about his latest single, Sivan revealed, “YOUTH is a song about the joy in naivety and being lost. It’s about dropping everything, running away, making mistakes and loving too hard, and how that’s okay.” Sivan has a very spontaneous outlook on the unknown, and we commend him for it.
The music video stars Sivan at a party surrounded by colored lights, hundreds of balloons, teddy bears, and roller skates — not your average party! Sivan has a blonde love interest in the video, and the two are seen holding hands while lying in a tent full of Care Bears. The pair also sneak off from the party together. We LOVE it!
The entire music video is very colorful and fun, featuring Sivan singing in a hallway full of flashing Christmas lights. The video even guest stars actress Amandla Stenberg and fellow YouTuber Lia Marie Johnson.
