BBC Soap EastEnders’ has confirmed that two characters will be returning this summer as part of an explosive storyline.

Actor John Partridge is set to reprise his role as, Jane Beale’s brother Christian Clarke, while actress Lynda Baron will return to the square as Linda Clarke, who is Jane’s mother.

While insiders have kept tight-lipped about the return of Christian and Linda, they did reveal that they will return briefly as part of a storyline which will revolve around the Beale family, and the shocking story is set to change the family forever.

The Beale’s have seen their family fall apart in the last few years, after Lucy Beale was killed and it was later revealed during the live week that her little brother Bobby was the one who murdered his older sister, and his mother Jane helped cover it up.

John Partridge was last seen on EastEnders back in 2015 where he attended his sisters wedding to Ian Beale as part of the 30th anniversary live week.

While Jane’s mother Linda was last seen on the square way back in February 2009 when she moved to Florida with her husband, Roger.

Speaking to the BBC Website about his return to the Soap, John Partridge said:  “I am thrilled to be able to return to EastEnders whilst touring the UK with Chicago… Christian is never far from my mind – I turn my back for five minutes and look what happens!”.

EastEnders’ has been nominated at the British Soap Awards, and you can vote for your favourites to win by visiting the official website.
