UK singer-songwriter Sam Tompkins has just dropped his brand-new single, Faded, with Birmingham grime MC, Jaykae.

The track is based on the destructive characteristics drug use has on a person’s mental health.

Marking his fourth release, Tompkins demonstrates his impressive hard-hitting lyrics and bold trap beats, complemented by Jaykae’s fierce bars.

Faded has already garnered support from BBC Radio 1Xtra with Mistajam premiering the track on his radio show and is now featured in Apple Music’s ‘New Artist of the Week’.

Located in a corner-shop, the video sees Tompkins hallucinating and envisioning a number of amusing scenarios, while trying to manoeuvre his way through the store.

Faded is the follow-up track to previous singles, Critical, You Broke My Heart So Gently, and Follow Suit.

The new release completes the 22-year-old’s debut five-track EP, From My Sleeve to the World, out now on Island Records.

The anticipated EP has proven Tompkins’ raw lyrical ability while dealing with hard-hitting topics including suicide, online bullying, mental health, lost love and failed relationships.

The EP offers a front-row seat in the mind of an emerging artist who values emotions and authenticity.

The talented youngster will also be embarking on a six-date UK headline tour to mark the EP release with three dates already sold out.

Kicking off the tour in Dublin on 11th November and ending in Bristol on 17th November.

    Tompkins tweeted:

i can’t believe i am actually going to be headlining my own tour… this time last year i was working at vodafone, now i get to do this? unreal.
