Following a successful ceremony last year, it has been confirmed that the Unsigned Music Awards will make its return next year. This time around, it will be in partnership with Live Nation and The Great Escape, Europe’s biggest festival for new music.

The Unsigned Music Awards will take place on May 16 2018, where it will take over the 4000 capacity Brighton Centre ahead of the 13th edition of The Great Escape.

Simon O’Kelly, CEO of UMA Music Group and the Unsigned Music Awards said: “We are excited to continue the growth of the Unsigned Music Awards as a platform to promote unsigned, self-signed and otherwise emerging artists, around the world. Opening Europe’s largest festival for new music with an award ceremony that recognises only new music makes perfect sense and we can’t think of a more suitable partner to bring this vision to life, than Live Nation.”

Rory Bett, CEO of Mama Festivals and The Great Escape Festival added: “For the past 12 years The Great Escape has led the way in supporting upcoming talent, doing more than any other festival to get new and emerging bands onto the industry radar. Bringing the UMAs to The Great Escape is a perfect launch platform to the 2018 festival and just another way that we can continue to champion the music talent of the future.”

Like last year, UNILAD Entertainment will continue their partnership with the UMAs. They will be live streaming the two-hour ceremony, which will feature 17 award presentations and a number of performances from some of the UK’s hottest emerging talent.

Kevin Tewis-Allen, Global Director of Music & Entertainment at UNILAD said: “UNILAD was thrilled to be the original media partner at the 2016 awards and are delighted to announce our continued support for the UMAs in 2018. Live Nation is the perfect global partner for the UMAs and UNILAD will continue to set the music bar very high with the best LIVE entertainment shows.”

Early-bird tickets for the Unsigned Music Awards 2018 are available now. Artist applications for the UMAs open in July 2017, but artists can register here to receive updates.
