“Your gender doesn’t define you, each and every one of us possesses the strength to be truly unstoppable.”

Multi-platinum (as per the Indian Music Industry (IMI) recognized criteria for certifications) singer-songwriter Ananya Birla, 24, has unveiled her brand-new music video for her latest hit track “Unstoppable” on April 12, 2019, which is an ode to female empowerment.

As these concepts of gender-equality and female empowerment are growing widespread around the world, this inspirational new music video is a dedication to the powerful and fearless women of the modern world who are breaking down every barrier and stereotypical norms which are keeping them from growing and achieving incredible heights.

This song is dedicated to every girl or woman, who has felt the need to try a little harder, shout a little louder and push a little further.
Here's to us being unstoppable together! #Unstoppablehttps://t.co/fXYEHi011m

Dismantling gender-based stereotypes one after other, this video brings together a host of trailblazing women, including various celebrities, athletes, influencers and activists, to celebrate female power in all its glory. Ananya’s mother Neerja Birla kicks off the cameos, which include Olympian Mary Kom, sporting icons Aparna Popat and Sania Mirza, film stars Juhi Chawla and Pooja Hegde, model Gabriella Demetriades, singers Kanika Kapoor and Sukriti Kakar, TV presenter Anusha Dandekar, influencer Malini Agarwal, designer Falgiuni Peacock and choreographer Karishma Chavan, who also directed the video.

Talking about the song and video concept that she envisioned, Ananya Birla says, “I was inspired by my mother to write Unstoppable back in 2015. This is a feel-good anthem. I’m so happy to now share it alongside some of the most amazing women I know.  They are all proof that women can overcome outdated stereotypes to achieve anything!” Gender rules were made to be broken, especially if you have been told throughout history that you’re ‘less than’. The idea that society underlines our gender norms should not restrict us from working towards what we want to achieve. I believe that your gender doesn’t define you, and being yourself makes you unstoppable.”,
she adds. This video showcases women who have overcome gender role expectations and it makes you feel empowered and free.

‘Unstoppable’ was released on the occasion of International Women’s Day last month. It follows five back-to-back Platinum hits comprising of- Hold On, Meant to Be, Circles, and more recently Better that have collectively garnered over 150 million streams globally. She has scaled the charts and appeared on major playlists and radio stations across the globe. Ananya, who has been listed as one of GQ’s Most Influential Young Indians, Forbes’ Women to Watch and Miss Vogue’s 28 Geniuses Under 28, has performed at some of India’s biggest events including Global Citizen and Sunburn, Asia’s biggest EDM Festival. She has also collaborated with leading creatives around the world such as TEK, Afrojack, Jim Beanz, Tim Nackashi, Mood Melodies and Rock Jacobs.

Ananya founded her first business Svatantra Microfin a company that provides financial solutions for under-privileged women in rural India and empowers them with opportunities to be financially independent. In 2016, she founded Mpower; an initiative which works towards stamping out the stigma around mental illnesses and provides care in India.

Ananya is signed to Universal Music Group India and supported by Island Records UK and is currently working on her highly-anticipated debut EP which is due for release in May 2019.
