Music knows no boundaries and no one proves it better than The Vamps. The British boy band has collaborated with Indian duo Vishal and Shekar for their new single Beliya.
Vishal and Shekhar are quite popular in India. They have given some great singles for Bollywood. Expanding their horizon, the duo decided to work with the band to give fans best of both worlds.
Bottomline Media and Virgin EMI Records came up with the idea and the duo reached London to execute the plan. Both the band and the duo found each other’s company fun. Vishal and Shekhar shared their experience with The Vamps:
“It was super to work with the Vamps, they are good guys and extremely talented. We went in not really knowing each other, but in a few minutes of being there, they had taken the song that we had created for them, and added their own vibe to it. There were a comfort and joy to the sessions we did and that is something I think you can hear on the track. They really love India, especially the food and the music, while we really enjoy the music coming out of the UK, so we were all on the same page from the word go. The song is a celebration of the two cultures and of the fun we had!”
The “Oh Cecilia” hitmakers too shared their experience and it seems like the affections were very well reciprocated:
“We had a great time recording with Vishal and Shekhar and it was fun to try something different to what we are used to. We are really excited for everyone to hear the single. It was fun showing them around London and we hope they will return the favor next month when we visit Mumbai. India is a country we have wanted to visit since we started as a band, especially as we have such an incredible, loyal fan base there, so we can’t wait to come over.”
The band and the duo are in full swing to promote their first ever cross country song. The Vamps recently shared that they will be visiting India soon to promote the song.
