TV presenter and model Vogue Williams and former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews have announced that they are expecting their first baby.
The couple confirmed the news via social media by sharing a picture taken from their forthcoming shoot with Hello! Magazine.
Vogue took to Instagram to say: “I couldn’t be more delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby! Being with you @spencermatthews is the best thing that has ever happened to me, you are the dream”. Spencer shared the same image, captioned with: “So… I’m going to be a father! Couldn’t be happier to be sharing these times with the love of my life @voguewilliams . We feel truly blessed.”
A snippet of Vogue and Spencer’s interview with Hello! has already been released, which reveals the moment they discovered they were expecting their baby. Vogue, who is four months pregnant, said: “We were together when we did the test, on holiday in the South of France over Christmas, and we were just like, ‘Wow’. Regardless of how long you plan it for or how long you’ve wanted it, it’s still like, ‘Oh my God!’ It’s such exciting news.”
“I think we were more taken aback by how quickly it had worked, as opposed to the fact we’re having a kid,” Spencer added. “Because we had already begun to try so I just considered myself the luckiest man in the world when we got the baby news.”
“We were heading down that matrimonial road anyway, so now we feel doubly blessed. We simply couldn’t be happier. I think we’ll make great parents. We just can’t wait to give all our love to this child.”
Vogue and Spencer, who met whilst competing on Channel 4’s The Jump, got engaged last month. Spencer proposed on the West End stage of The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre after watching the show and having a private tour. Not only was the proposal romantic, but Spencer also designed the engagement ring himself.
Speaking about the proposal, Spencer said: “Our first trip away together was to Disneyland Paris, [so] it felt like the perfect fit. The Lion King is also one of the greatest stories of all time, so I figured that having just had a romantic evening watching it, she’d probably say yes!”
Vogue and Spencer’s full interview will be available in this week’s copy of Hello! Magazine, released tomorrow (March 19).
