Record breaking UK country music duo Ward Thomas have had an absolutely fantastic last few years. Since the release of their independent album ‘From Where We Stand‘ back in 2014 the group made up of twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy have signed to Sony Music, become the first ever British country act to score a number 1 album with their second release ‘Cartwheels‘, embarked on sold out tours across the UK and Ireland, and are spearheading the boom in homegrown country.
Now the 22-year-old hitmakers have announced that they have signed a massive three-album worldwide publishing deal with BMG. The UK country queens’ publishing deal means they will now be part of an impressive roster of artists and songwriters at BMG including the likes of: Jess Glynne, Frank Ocean, Jack Savoretti, David Bowie, Rolling Stones and lots more.
Speaking to Music Week about signing Ward Thomas to a huge BMG publishing deal, senior A&R manager at BMG Jos Watkin said: “The deal encompasses everything, the first album they released, the second one and the next one as well. We really believe in them as artists.”
The duo who will be embarking on a 22-date UK tour this April and May, have already been in the recording studio working on new materiel which they are set to debut at the Spring tour, and they confirmed to CelebMix last year that their third album is due for release in 2018.
