Camila Cabello recently visited Roman Kemp on Capital FM’s Breakfast show and treated listeners to an impromptu cover in addition to more details about her debut album.

The ‘Crying in the Club’ singer channelled her Latina roots to nail the chorus of Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s ‘Despacito’. Biebs singing in Spanish already had us swooning, but Camila is on another level – if anyone was born to sing this song, it was her.

Seriously tho, how can @Camila_Cabello make 'Despacito' sound even more ??! She's with us from 7:30AM tomorrow. https://t.co/du34QT0umc pic.twitter.com/FbO3fmCcFa

Whilst in the studio, she also spoke to Roman about working on a song with Ed Sheeran for her debut solo album, The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving. She said: “I was telling him how my album was going, and he sent me this song that he had written with me in mind called “Care About Me”. I went in and changed a lot of lyrics to just make it more about myself and tied it into a personal situation. It’s called “The Boy” now. It is insane that I have a song with him that I’m working on because everybody knows, including him, that I’m the biggest Ed Sheeran fan ever.”

Camila’s album is set to include a huge list of big name contributors including Ed, Pharrell, Charli XCX, Ryan Tedder, Diplo, and Sia. It has also been revealed that she has written or co-written every song on the album.

In a recent interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Camila spoke about some of the collaborations on her album. Teaming up with Charli XCX on a song called ‘Scar Tissue’, she said: “She’s incredible. She just has the best melodies that I’ve ever heard. I really want to collaborate with her so much more. We clicked.”

On collaborating with Pharrell, she said: “He’s amazing. Just being around that calibre is so inspiring. Just the way that he takes artistry super seriously and everything has a purpose.” Additionally, she has worked with Ryan Tedder on two songs. “I felt just super unafraid to be just super emotional, to be unfiltered. Writing with Ryan was amazing. We want to do a bunch more,” Camila added.

Whilst we’ve got to wait until September for Camila’s debut album, we’re already excited for what the songstress is going to deliver. Her debut single ‘Crying in the Club’, which she co-wrote with Sia and Benny Blanco, is working its way up the charts across the world. We also had the honour of attending her exclusive album playback party in London last month, in which she shared a few songs with us which are all sounding superb.
