Earlier this month, it was revealed that Camila Cabello is the new face of Skechers’ Hi-Lites campaign. Having already shared a behind the scenes video with her fans, the new commercial for the campaign has just been launched.
Filmed in both English and Spanish, the advert stays true to Camila’s Cuban/Mexican roots and showcases her in a variety of different settings. From performing choreography to having a giggle with some friends, Camila shows off her fun side whilst modelling various slick footwear.
Camila stated, “It’s so important for me to pay homage to my Cuban/Mexican roots. My culture is such a huge part of who I am. While working on my solo album, I have been listening to Spanish and English musicians – pulling inspiration from influencers I grew up with. I grew up speaking Spanish around my house and listened to primarily Spanish music before discovering Michael Jackson and all of the artists I listen to today.”

In addition to the new advert, Camila also took part in a second Q&A with Skechers. The global brand is prominent in over 160 countries, and when asked about being the face of Skechers, Camila said: “It’s so cool because I have a lot of family in different parts of the world, especially in Mexico. I have really amazing Latin fans and fans from all over the world. It’s really cool and I am so thankful that Skechers is giving me that platform to be the face of such a big company. Knowing that a lot of people will be viewing this campaign is such a cool feeling.”
Camila also unveiled a little information about her forthcoming album, The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving. She said: “I am so excited about my debut album! I have been writing for the past few months. We’re in the mixing production stages right now and it feels really cool to be able to say that! I really poured my heart and soul into this album – every part of it is reflected in my life. I wrote about everything that made me feel anything. I pulled a lot of the inspiration from my Latin roots and blended everything sonically to create my own sound. I am so excited for people to hear it because I feel like they’ll get to know me even better through my music!”
