The month of May is going to be huge for the girls of Fifth Harmony as their sophomore album, 7/27, is set to be released towards the end of the month. Only the 5th day into the month and the girls just released a new track off the album titled, ‘Write On Me‘ which is such a tune!
Their newest hit, ‘Work From Home’ was also just announced to be certified platinum by the RIAA for selling over one million copies! On top of that, the ladies just landed their first ever cover story with Billboard magazine! During a behind the scenes moment with Billboard, the ladies took on some songs from other female pop artists such as Ellie Goulding and Meghan Trainor in attempt to sound like them for #Hot100Karaoke.
The girls actually rocked it! Some showcased their own beautiful voices taking on these songs, but a few hit their chosen artist’s voice right on the dot! The video starts with Camila Cabello impersonating Ellie Goulding with the song, ‘Outside’. Camila and Ellie both have very unique and distinct voices but Camila takes the win on accuracy with her impression. Her impersonation was hilariously impressive, even her band mates were shocked!
Next we see Lauren Jauregui taking on Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’. Lauren took more of the karaoke route rather than an impersonation but let’s be real, sounding exactly like Adele is pretty dang hard but we give Lauren major props for still killing it! Another girl who hilariously nailed her impression was definitely Ally Brooke! She took on Meghan Trainor with her hit ‘No’. Ally had the voice and swagger of Meghan and everything! Even though she didn’t know all the words, we think she did a great job!
Then Normani Kordei took on her girl Rihanna! She decided to sing her song, ‘Man Down’. She channeled her inner “island woman” and did and did her girl justice! The last but certainly not the least impression was sung by Dinah Jane! If Camila’s wasn’t the most accurate, it definitely has to be Dinah’s. She took on ‘Bleeding Love’ by Leona Lewis and she sounds almost exactly like her! Our girl can seriously sing!
All of 5H did an amazing job and look even more amazing on the cover of Billboard magazine where they talk about surviving pop-star fame and “finally having a damn voice”. Make sure to read their story and pick yourself up a copy when they hit stands on May 6th!
