Proper 1D fanboy, that Olly Murs. It has barely been three months since his stellar cover of One Direction’s ‘Drag Me Down’ on Australian Radio, but yesterday the kind man blessed us with yet another 1D cover. And baby, it was perfect.
Sadly, this performance didn’t include the swinging dance moves Olly so smoothly incorporated in his Drag Me Down rendition, but he more than made up for that with his vocals and the incredible musical arrangement.
Adding a piano and some strings, Olly and his band turned One Direction’s pop jam into something almost anthemic, making it even more difficult to refrain from snapping your fingers, gently bopping your head from side to side and singing along into an imaginary microphone.
Seeing Olly cover a One Direction song yet again makes us a bit nostalgic for the times we used to see them together on the regular, the banter between Olly and the 1D lads never failing to make fans from both artists happy.
Hopefully our needs will be fulfilled next weekend when One Direction is set to perform on X Factor’s final, hosted by Olly. How about they finally do that Wrapped Up collab that we’ve all been waiting for? We’re still pretty sure Niall would be thrilled to do the rapping part.
