    The Weeknd sets two Guinness World Records

    The Weeknd has set two Guinness World Records.

    The singers album ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ currently holds the world record for the most streamed album on Spotify in one year.

    The Grammy award winning record was listened to by 60 million unique listeners between December 1st 2014 and December 1st 2015.

    The Weeknd’s single ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ notched up 448, 334, 867 streams as of January 13th 2016.

    The Canadian singer has also set the world record for the most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 by a male solo artist.

    The singles ‘Earned It’, ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘The Hills’ collectively spent 45 consecutive weeks in the US singles chart Top 10 between March 7th 2015 and January 9th 2016.

    ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’, The Weeknd’s second album, has gone triple platinum and has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.

    Representatives from The Guinness Book of Records recently visited the singer at a recording studio in LA to present him with his awards.

    Other record breaking musicians to feature in the 2017 edition of The Guinness Book of Records include Justin Bieber, David Bowie and Ringo Starr.

    The Guinness World Records 2017 edition goes on sale, Wednesday September 8th.
