2019 breakout artist WESLEY premieres his lead single “Sober” as he announce’s his debut solo full length album. Blending elements of trap, hip hop, and punk rock, WESLEY laments “I don’t wanna deal with all this sober, I just need some weed and a corona”. Though referring to a past personal relationship, WESLEY also taps into today’s broader zeitgeist on our current state of the world. Indeed, we don’t want to deal with any of it sober.
The release of “Sober” comes hot off the heels of WESLEY’s breakout solo EP REAL & TRUE, released in December 2018. Receiving attention from z100, Billboard, KISSFM, and more. REAL & TRUE marked the launch of WESLEY’s solo breakout career from boy band Emblem3, which he fronted, known most famously for their Hot 100 international hit “Chloe” and their highly publicized tour with Selena Gomez.
The lead single off the EP, “REMEDY”, premiered with Billboard, receiving attention as Shazam’s “Song of the Day” as well as placement on multiple of Spotify’s curated Viral Charts. WESLEY partnered with nonprofits To Write Love On Her Arms and Shatterproof to release the EP’s second single “Don’t Have To Say You’re Sorry”– written about his sister– dedicated to raising awareness about today’s opiate addiction crisis.
