This year marks 40 years since pop-duo WHAM! formed, and to commemorate the occasion the duo’s estate are to release “WHAM! The Singles: Echoes from The Edge Of Heaven”.
Containing remastered versions of all ten of their single releases, the collection is available to purchase across five physical formats, including a CD box-set, a 2 LP coloured vinyl, a 2 LP black vinyl, as well as digitally.
Perhaps the most impressive version is the limited edition 7” single box set, featuring replicas of each of the singles, presented in a special carry case. Also included is a hardcover book with notes on each single, a cassette of bonus mixes, a metal key ring, postcards and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
The exciting music release follows on from the unveiling of an outstanding new Netflix documentary charting the groups ascent to the top!
Directed by Chris Smith, and produced by John Battsek and Simon Halfon, the feature length doc takes viewers right back to when George and Andrew first met, before going onto show how they formed WHAM! and then the incredible journey they had together.
Pulling from the duos personal archives, and including many unseen footage and unheard interviews, the show is an absolute must-watch for any fan of WHAM!, but also for any fan of music in general.
WHAM! | Official Trailer
George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley became fast friends while attending the same school before forming a band, later known world-wide as WHAM!
They toured the world several times, scored five UK number ones and became the first Western band to ever perform in China in 1985.
They eventually disbanded in 1986, after performing to a sold-out crowd at Wembley Stadium, with George Michael then going onto achieve just as successful solo career.
WHAM! The Singles: Echoes From Heaven is available now and WHAM! The Documentary is also available to watch on Netflix now.
