Since releasing single ‘Where I Belong’ last year, Irish band HomeTown have gone from strength to strength. From supporting The Vamps on their ‘Wake Up’ tour to recording the theme tune for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, the band – made up of Dayl, Josh, Brendan, Dean, Cian and Ryan – have had quite a year. Let’s have a quick recap of their year.
1. ‘Where I Belong’
The single had phenomenal success in Ireland, reaching number 1. The band did a lot of promotion for their single – embarking on a signing tour that visited various HMV stores across the UK and Ireland.
2. The release of their self-titled album
On November 20th, the band released their self-titled album, which again was a major success, gaining a number 4 chart position in Ireland. The album contained songs such as ‘Jigsaw Dreams,’ ‘Roses,’ ‘Standing In The Rain’ and ‘The Night We Met’ – which was written by Liam Payne and Jamie Scott. HomeTown recently debuted ‘Roses’ on YouTube, receiving an extremely positive response from fans.
3. The Vamps ‘Wake Up’ Tour
HomeTown supported The Vamps on their ‘Wake Up’ tour, visiting arenas around the UK and Ireland. While on the tour, the band tried to meet as many fans as possible, doing free meet and greets outside the venues. No doubt the tour was a massive platform for the band, gaining them an even bigger fanbase!
4. Recording the theme tune for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
The band received an incredible opportunity to record the theme tune for ‘Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles 2.’ The song featured in the end credits in Irish cinemas.
5. Signing a record deal in Japan
As if things couldn’t get any better for the Irish boyband, their manager Louis Walsh confirmed that they had signed a record deal in Japan and were set to move there later this year.
