Dolly Parton brought ‘Heartstrings’ to Netflix as it premiered on 22nd November, and here at CelebMix, we have put everything together that you need to know about the American TV series.
Back in June 2018, fans got excited when it was announced that the legendary Dolly Parton had a Netflix series in the works which was inspired by some of her most popular songs. The show is an anthology and not a chronological series meaning that each episode will exist different from the previous one. The county singers series is made up of 8 episodes, each episode inspired by different iconic Dolly Parton songs, the tracks that inspired the show are:
- Two Doors Down
- If I Had Wings
- J.J. Sneed
- These Old Bones
- Down From Dover
- Sugar Hill
- Cracker Jack
- Jolene

The series has some outstanding cast members, featuring the likes of Julianne Hough who looks almost unrecognisable as Jolene. Academy award-nominated actress, Kathleen Turner is in the first episode as she takes on the role of Miss Mary Shaw and Neighbours star Ben Lawson plays Clay Fox. Clay is one of three siblings who is invited to the 70th birthday party of their estranged father in the episode “If I Had Wings.” Not only does the show have a fantastic cast, but there will be appearances from Dolly herself too!
The eight stories all come together in order to celebrate family, faith, love and forgiveness. Many are already asking, will there be another series? If you can’t get enough of Dolly Parton’s extravagant outfits, fabulous songs or her signature looks then this series is right up your street.
