This weekend is Comedy Central’s second annual Clusterfest (formally known as Colossal Clusterfest). What do you need to know? It’ll be an absolutely hilarious weekend full of fun, food, photo ops, and oh yeah, comedy. If you’re new to Clusterfest, it could be a lot to take in over the next three days. It’s OK. That’s why we’re mapping out the things you might have missed out the first time around when you put together your schedule. Trust us – we know there’s a lot of things to do but there are some things that are non-negotiable.
First off, here’s the map of the festival:
Learn it. Memorize it. Breathe it. Okay, not really breathe it but it’s a good thing to maybe remember where everything is so that way you know where you should be heading to and arriving there on time.
A few housekeeping reminders:
- DO bring a clear bag if you intend on bringing additional items other than the necessary keys, wallet, phone. They are strictly enforcing this rule!
- DO keep your reminders on. You will need to line up early in order to score a ticket to sit inside the Bill Graham. Don’t blame us for missing someone you really wanted to see!
- DO NOT skip out on the exhibitions. Sure, there might be long lines but it’ll be worth it.
- DO take public transportation. It’s the easiest way to get there.
Great, now that’s out of the way. Here are a few sets we’ll be checking out over the 3-day weekend that we think you should too:
FRIDAY, JUNE 1
5:15PM – 6:16PM @ Larkin Comedy Club: The Daily Show Live: A conversation with Trevor Noah and the world’s fakest news team feat. Roy Wood Jr., Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Dulce Sloan, and Desi Lydic
6:25PM – 7:10PM @ Colossal Stage: Third Eye Blind + kill time by grabbing a bite to eat at a nearby food truck (Itani Ramen, anyone?)
8:30PM – 9:30PM @ Colossal Stage: Trevor Noah. Just stay here after Third Eye Blind.
10PM – 11PM @ Colossal Stage: The Lonely Island. Truly, if you miss this, what kind of person are you? They RARELY perform live.
SATURDAY, JUNE 2
3:15PM – 4:15PM @ Colossal Stage: Awkwafina. Honestly, it’s her year. We’re here for her.
4:20PM – 5:15PM @ Room 415 Comedy Club: Desus & Mero. Unfamiliar? (via Clusterfest: The pair, who met during high school in the Bronx, have been exercising their comedic sensibility across multiple media platforms since the beginning. Between message boards on Okayplayer and 8ozProphet and reconnecting online after amassing Twitter followers based on tweets covering their mutual dissatisfaction for their jobs, their social media complaints, peppered with funny pop culture commentary, drew a following.)
5:45PM – 6:30PM @ Colossal Stage: TIFFANY. HADDISH. (enough said) and Chris Redd
7PM – 8PM @ Larkin Comedy Club: Middleditch and Schwartz (Silicon Valley meets Parks and Rec)
9:15PM – 11PM @ Colossal Stage: Amy Schumer and Friends. A good two-hour set. Get ready.
SUNDAY, JUNE 3
3:15PM – 4PM @ Paddy’s Pub: The game of games. Kick off Sunday afternoon with a beer at Paddy’s Pub and enjoy some probably really intense games!
4:15PM – 5PM @ Colossal Stage: Reggie Watts. What we’re expecing to be a set full of music and hilarious one-liners, Reggie never disappoints!
6PM – 7:15PM @ Bill Graham Stage: Arrested Development Screening & Conversation. Perfect timing since the season just dropped on Netflix!
9PM – 10:15PM @ Colossal Stage: Jon Stewart. Honestly, Comedy Central’s old pride and joy. You can’t miss this.
Of course, there are gaps. That’s when you take the time to check out the attractions such as the Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library, showcasing the finest works from Trump’s Twitter collection; race through the Double Dare set, there will be a one-hour live show on Sunday; Arrested Development iconic memorabilia, the stair car and the Bluth Banana Stand is waiting for you; or try your hand at some carnival games inside the South Park County Fair!
Obviously, you won’t be bored this weekend. There’s something to do at every corner of this festival and we’re looking forward to it. Are you attending Clusterfest 2018? Do you think there’s someone we should definitely check out that we haven’t listed above? Let us know!
