    What’s New In Film: August 2016

    August is a month that features a lot of brand new exciting titles in film, so we compiled a list of some of the titles to look out for this month while browsing your local theatre.

    Suicide Squad (15) – August 5th

    The highly anticipated DC film is finally here! Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis & More, ‘Suicide Squad‘ follows “the recruitment of imprisoned supervillains who have been set the task to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchage for clemency”. The movie features the latest incarnation of The Joker who will be played by actor & singer, Jared Leto. What’s better than a group of superheroes? A squad of supervillains. In cinemas from August 5th. 

    Nine Lives (PG) – August 5th (USA)

    ‘Nine Lives‘ is the perfect family film. Starring Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner, Robbie Amell and Cheryl Hines, Nine Lives follows the story of “a business man who finds himself trapped inside the body of his family’s cat.” In cinemas from August 5th.

    Pete’s Dragon (PG) – August 12th

    Starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, Oakes Fegley, & Oona Laurence, ‘Pete’s Dragon’  is the story of “the adventures of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon.” The original film from 1977, as well as the current remake, are adaptations of the beloved children’s book and is sure to be fun and nostalgic for audiences all around. In cinemas from August 12th.

    Florence Foster Jenkins (PG) – August 12th

    Starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Simon Helberg, & Rebecca Ferguson, ‘Florence Foster Jenkins‘ tells the true story of “Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York heiress who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, despite having a terrible singing voice.” No doubt Meryl Streep will make this story come alive on screen for all to see. In cinemas from August 12th. 

    Sausage Party (15) – August 12th

    Ever wonder what a Rated R comedy about a sausage voiced by Seth Rogen would look like? Well now you do! Starring, Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Alistair Abell & many more, ‘Sausage Party‘ tells the story of a sausage who “strives to discover the truth about his existence.” In cinemas from August 12th.

    Hell or High Water (15) – August 12th

    Starring Dale Dickey, Ben Foster, Chris Pine, & William Sterchi, ‘Hell or High Water’ tells the story of “a divorced dad and his ex-con brother who resort to a desperate scheme in order to save their family’s farm in West Texas.” In cinemas from August 12th

    Edge of Winter (15) – August 12th

    Starring Shaun Benson, Shiloh Fernandez, Patrick Garrow, & Tom Holland, ‘Edge of Winter‘ tells the story of when “two brothers  are stranded by a brutal winter storm with an unpredictable father they barely know, the boys begin to suspect their supposed protector may be their biggest threat.” In select cinemas August 12th, Available on iTunes in the US and on pre-order in the UK. 

    The Hollars (PG-13) – August 26th

    Starring Anna Kendrick, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Krasinski, & Sharlto Copley, ‘The Hollars‘ follows “a man who returns to his small hometown after learning that his mother has fallen ill and is about to undergo surgery.” In cinemas from August 26th
