Fans of the fabulous West End production of Why Am I So Single? prepare to get EXCITED, as the team behind the much loved musical have revealed that the highly anticipated Original London Cast Recording album will be available to stream from March 14th 2025!
Following the official release of ‘Disco Ball’, and the success of previously released demos, ‘Why Am I So Single?’, ‘8 Dates’, ‘Just In Case’, and ‘C U Never’, the show’s cult fanbase has been expressing their love on social media and demanding the full album ever since the production ended its West End run at the Garrick Theatre in January 2025.
Through a dynamic blend of musical genres, including pop, rap, disco, rock, and poignant ballads, the cast recording vividly captures the excitement and chaos of dating and the emotional roller coaster of friendship.
Highlights on the soundtrack include ‘I Got Off The Plane’, ‘Clubs Glorious Clubs’ and ‘Shhh!!!!’, whilst the meta-theatrical genius of ‘Men R Trash’ is further enhanced with a special guest vocal by THE Patti LuPone!
Why Am I So Single? was created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the team behind the hit show Six, and tells the story of two best friends, Oliver and Nancy, who are also musical theatre writers. Together, they navigate the challenges of perpetual single-hood while attempting to craft a new musical inspired by their own dating experiences.
The production delves into themes of friendship, love, and the complexities of modern relationships, all presented with humour and heartfelt musical numbers.
The show premiered in London’s West End at the Garrick Theatre, with CelebMix Award nominee Jo Foster portraying the role Oliver, and Leesa Tulley playing Nancy, and received positive reviews for its witty lyrics, engaging performances, and exploration of platonic love.
Critics highlighted its clever satire of the modern dating scene and the strong chemistry between the leads.
