Patrick Starrr is one of the most fabulous makeup artists on YouTube, leading the way for men in the beauty industry. His viral videos have attracted millions of views and he now has over 3 million subscribers.
His The Power of Makeup video was one of his most viral videos racking up nearly 9 million views as it circulated the internet, leaving many in awe of Patrick’s makeup skills.
His huge flawless lashes, impeccable contour and intricate eye looks have left fans stunned by his ability to create any look. But it was his collaboration with Kim Kardashian that overtook this video by gaining 9.8m views.
Many praised Patrick Starrr on his ability to make Kim feel relaxed and getting her to open up about her home life and life in the spotlight. He has also produced videos with Tyra Banks, Katy Perry and Ashley Tisdale.
Previously, Patrick had a very successful nail polish collaboration with Sephora’s Formula X. Together they launched three limited edition nail polishes inspired by Patrick’s signature style.
Now the YouTube vlogger has announced via his Instagram that he has teamed up with the huge makeup line MAC. Patrick looked incredible, covered head-to-toe in rhinestone while he showed off a jar of setting powder with his name engraved in glitter.
According to MAC, this product is called Patrick’s Powder and looks like a different version of the brand’s current Set Powder. The product is much loved by its users for its beautiful sheer coverage and ability to make your makeup last longer.
According to Refinery 29, Patrick has a year-long contract to the brand which means he will be making five more collections. This collaboration has been a dream for Patrick as the MUA used to actually work at a MAC counter in Florida in 2012.
“Working at MAC was like Hogwarts for me. I learned so much there and felt confident even though I didn’t really know makeup.”
“That’s why you see me in my first video already contouring and baking — I don’t think I would have started a YouTube channel had it not been for learning at MAC,” Patrick told Refinery 29.
“Sometimes there can be uncertainty as to the longevity and appeal of an influencer.”
“We really see Patrick as someone who has growth trajectory and global appeal. He’s here to stay because he’s a talented makeup artist and entertainer. He’s also has a unique point of view that’s grounded in individuality,” Catherine Bomboy Dougherty, SVP at MAC Cosmetics stated.
His powder will allow literally anyone to use it as it caters to all skin tones and types. This decision was particularly important to Patrick as he wanted anyone who loved makeup like him to be able to use it.
“I didn’t want to go too artsy or avant-garde with my collection. I literally wanted someone’s grandma to be able to walk into a MAC store anywhere in the world and be able to use these products.”
“I made sure it was universal so that anyone who loves makeup, glamour, and sparkle will find something in it,” he explained to Refinery 29.
There’s no release date on this collaboration at this moment, but it will be here in time for Christmas.
