Welcome back to CelebMix YouTuber of the Week, a weekly feature in which we discuss one of our favourite content creators on the wonderful platform of YouTube. Last week, we talked about the lovely Zoe London. Now, introducing the latest YouTuber of the Week: Adande Thorne, also known as sWooZie!
Who is sWooZie?
Adande Thorne is a Trinidadian-American YouTuber, animator, former professional gamer, and above all, an incredible storyteller. He has been posting videos on his YouTube channel, sWooZie, for over 10 years, garnering an audience of over 4 million subscribers. The videos he posts on YouTube vary, but the majority of his content is vlogs or stories featuring animations and voiceovers. The topics on his channel range from love and relationships to race, school, and his former jobs.
One of his biggest accomplishments to date happened early last year, when he was invited to interview Barack Obama along with fellow YouTubers Destin Sandlin and Ingrid Nilsen. He discussed racial profiling, gun control, and minimum wage with the president. He also sparked an online debate when asking the president to choose between Kendrick and Drake. Adande recently played a small role in the 2017 movie The Space Between Us, and interviewed the director on his channel. He is also a winner of the “Animated” award at the Streamys 2016.
Why should you watch his videos?
Adande has truly mastered the art of storytelling over the 10 years he’s been making videos. By either talking directly to the camera, creating an animation with a voiceover, or both, he always engages the audience with his quick humour, warm personality, funny voices, and sometimes an unbearable cliffhanger!
If you’re not convinced yet, sWooZie’s channel is worth checking out to hear some of the insane situations he gets himself into, usually involving relationships.

In this video, Adande collaborates with his friend and fellow YouTuber Lilly Singh, also known as IISuperwomanII, to make fun of all of their viewers who ship them as a couple. In this short comedic sketch, Adande and Lilly discuss all of the reasons they wouldn’t work as a couple- while doing some very un-platonic activities involving hot wax and whipped cream. It’s a hilarious must-watch for fans of either of the two, and make sure you stay until the end to see the best part!
