Welcome back to another edition of YouTuber of the Week. From rising stars to long-time celebrated vloggers, we aim to share with you the very best creators that the internet has to offer. Last time we gave the beautiful MissRemiAshten the title. However, this week we’re crowning the incredibly fabulous Tyler Oakley!

Who is Tyler Oakley?

Tyler Oakley is an American YouTuber, podcast personality, author and activist. He joined the video sharing platform on September 18 2007, which means that he recently celebrated TEN YEARS of being on YouTube! With a strong following of almost 7.9 million subscribers, his videos have been viewed over 637 million times.

As well as being a successful YouTuber, his influence has grown beyond the video sharing platform. Tyler is a social advocate who is not afraid to share his beliefs and help to make a change in the world. A long-time supporter of The Trevor Project, a suicide hotline and organization for gay youth, Tyler has raised over one million dollars for the organisation.

Additionally, over the years he has written a best selling memoir called Binge, released a documentary called Snervous, created his own glasses line with Warby Parker, toured across the world, hosted his own talk show on Ellen DeGeneres’ digital network and so much more.

Tyler shares five easy self-care tips in this video, something which we could all do with hearing at times. From stretching to talking to yourself like you are your own best friend, you are bound to take something useful from this video.

Tyler has interviewed so many celebrities over the years, but this video with Frozen’s Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel is one of the funniest. Kristen showcases her incredible knowledge of character voices, whilst Idina confirms a rumour on the block about something that happens if she’s on stage for too long.

5. 10 Year Surprise Reaction

To celebrate his ten year YouTube anniversary, Tyler asked his manager Lisa to make a compilation of his videos from the past ten years. As he begins to react to the video, Tyler realises that Lisa has stitched him up in the best way possible. Cue heartwarming and happy greetings from a number of his YouTube friends and family!
