This week we have decided to award our YouTuber of the Week to none other than Zoella aka Zoe Sugg!
Who is Zoella?
Zoe Sugg has fast become a YouTube phenomenon! With over 11 million subscribers she is easily one of the most recognisable faces on the platform. Zoe posted her first video on her channel in 2009 after popular demand by her blog readers. Her channel mirrored her blog with videos ranging from beauty, lifestyle, baking and the occasional challenge.
One of her viewers’ favourite things about Zoe is how honest she is with her supporters. She has often spoken about her battle with anxiety and shown her audience how much progress she’s made since she began her channel. She is an example to her subscribers that anxiety doesn’t have to hold you back from doing the things that you love and that you shouldn’t let your mental illness define you.
The Zoella brand has skyrocketed in recent years. Her debut novel Girl Online in 2014 broke records by becoming fastest selling book that year and also becoming the highest first week sales for a debut author since records began. She has since released another two novels Girl Online: On Tour and Girl Online: Going Solo, all of which have had incredible success. Zoe has had phenomenal success with her Zoella Beauty and Zoella Lifestyle range, with products selling out within hours of being available to purchase. She also has a waxwork in Madame Tussauds, London alongside fellow YouTuber and boyfriend Alfie Deyes (PointlessBlog) after becoming the second most requested by the public in 2014.
Zoe Sugg is arguably one of the most successful YouTubers and she shows no signs of slowing down.
Why you should watch Zoella’s videos
Due to the variety of video’s on Zoe’s channel, there is something for everyone to enjoy. She posts makeup routines, DIYs, challenges, baking, hauls, Q & As and fan favourites such as sibling collabs with her brother Joe (ThatcherJoe). Zoe is extremely into her seasonal videos, so around Christmas, Halloween and Easter you can expect festive content!
