Ahead of the release of her brand new album VENUS, Swedish superstar Zara Larsson has treated fans to an anthemic bop called ‘You Love Who You Love’.
Produced by rising duo MTHR and written with MNEK, ‘You Love Who You Love’ is a bold pop-rock track which encourages us to put an end to toxic relationships. Speaking about the track, Zara said: “We started writing over PRIDE, and began talking about how amazing it is that anyone can love anyone – but that doesn’t mean you always should! We’ve all had that friend, or been that friend, who keeps going back to someone who’s bad for them, and ‘You Love Who You Love’ is saying enough is enough.”
‘You Love Who You Love’ is the latest cut from Zara’s forthcoming album VENUS, which is due for release on February 9 via Sommer House/Epic Records. Described as being a “pop album fit for a goddess”, the record is also set to include the previously released ‘On My Love’ featuring David Guetta, ‘End of Time’ and ‘Can’t Tame Her’.
VENUS sees Zara teaming up with a diverse but focused team of collaborators including Rick Nowells, Danja, MNEK and MTHR, and marks the first release in a new partnership between Sony Music and Zara’s own label, Sommer House. The album celebrates the many shades of love, whether that be with a partner, family, your craft or with yourself, and looks set to be Zara’s most truthful musical representation of herself yet.
To coincide with the album’s release, Zara will be embarking on a UK and European tour. Kicking off in Manchester on February 16, she will perform in cities including Birmingham, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan and Warsaw before finishing off in Reykjavik on March 16.
