Chiwetel Ejiofor is allegedly set to play The Lion King’s evil villain Scar in the new upcoming live-action remake.

It is directed by Jon Favreau, who recreated a live-action remake of The Jungle Book, and Donald Glover has been confirmed to voice Simba.

Jeremy Irons voiced the character of Scar in the original and now Ejiofor is reportedly taking over the part.

Chiwetel Ejiofor was nominated for an Oscar for his leading title role in 12 Years Slave and was last seen as Mordo in Marvel’s Doctor Strange.
