This film will be the final instalment in his Unbreakable series, he confirmed.
Fans have wanted a sequel to Unbreakable for years but not many knew that Split was also a ‘secret’ sequel.
The announcement of Glass comes after the debut and huge box office ratings of Split, a film which didn’t seem to relate to Unbreakable at all in its trailers.
But its twist ending surprised everyone and got them excited for the obvious upcoming sequel.
Released in 2000, Unbreakable follows Bruce Willis’ character who is the sole survivor of a train crash and who develops supernatural powers as a result.
Split is about James McAvoy’s character who has 23 personalities with a 24th one developing throughout the film.
The plot of Glass will follow on from the conclusion of Split and will “collide” both of these movies into one finale.
Shyamalan, who was also behind the hit film The Sixth Sense, revealed that all of the actors are coming back to reprise their roles.
