It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for Nathan Sykes! From touring with amazing artists to finally releasing his debut album, we took the time to note down some of the highlights of Nathan’s 2016.

Joining Little Mix on the ‘Get Weird’ Tour

What better way to kick off the year than by joining one of the world’s biggest girl group’s on tour? Nathan joined Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne on a run of an incredible 27 shows! He performed a selection of songs including ‘Kiss Me Quick’, ‘Over And Over Again’ and ‘Give It Up’. Nathan even treated audiences to a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheeran’s song ‘Thinking Out Loud’ which was well received by fans.

    Performing at Summertime Ball

In June Nathan performed at Capital FM’s highly anticipated Summertime Ball. In front of an 80,000 person strong crowd packed into Wembley Stadium, Nathan performed on the Ball stage for the seventh year in a row! He performed his debut single ‘Kiss Me Quick’, the funky ‘Give It Up’, and was joined on stage by Louisa Johnson for a beautiful rendition of ‘Over And Over Again’.

    ‘Give It Up’ and ‘Famous’

Ahead of the release of his album, Nathan never missed the opportunity to release a single! First was ‘Give It Up’ featuring the sensational G-Eazy. The track received a brilliant reaction from fans, especially after the flirtatious video, which you can see here!

Famous was then released in September during the run up to Unfinished Business’ release. The emotional ballad highlights the vulnerability Sykes felt when becoming cut off from someone he was friends with, depicted in the line: ‘But will you call me when I’m famous? When I’m famous, would you call my name?’.

Along with these fantastic singles, Nathan also released the promotional single ‘Twist’. This is a brilliantly pop song paired with a retro-soul aura with similarities to the Jackson 5.

Touring with Alessia Cara and Ruth B

A major highlight of Nathan’s 2016 has to be joining Alessia Cara on her ‘Know It All Tour Part Two’. Travelling across the USA, Nathan performed many of his popular tracks as well as pairing with Alessia on stage to perform an amazing rendition of ‘Stone’.

    Releasing debut album ‘Unfinished Business’

And last but by no means least, the most incredible moment for Nathan in 2016. The release of his debut album, ‘Unfinished Business’. After years of preparation, fans were delighted to finally listen to Nathan’s album on the 11th November. Providing a mix of retro vibes with modern pop twists, Nathan’s album is one of a kind and unlike anything else we’ve heard this year.
