5 After Midnight are the fresh new boyband making their mark on the UK music scene.  The all-male trio made up of members Nathan Lewis, Kieran Alleyne and Jordan “Jay” Lee, had their first taste of fame when they auditioned for the 2016 series of the talent show The X Factor.

Since making it to third place in The X Factor final, the boys have signed to record label Syco and released their debut single Up In Here at the beginning of June – the video for which has over 1 million views and counting.  The upbeat party hit earned itself a place in the top 10 of the Vodafone Big Top 40 as soon as it was released, and we can totally understand why!

So imagine how excited “Midnighters” were when the coolest guys in the game dropped a little hint to their fanbase that they may have a special treat lined up for them.

Excited fans were quick to reply to 5 After Midnight’s tweet, correctly guessing that the cover would be the 2014 smash hit “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring the incredible Jess Glynne.

One dedicated “Midnighter” tweeted: “OMG MY FAVS COVERING MY FAV”, and another simply replied: “RATHER BE YES YES YES”.

So it’s fair to say that the fandom was more than a little excited to hear what Kieran, Nathan and Jordan had in store for them today (July 21). Some hearts fluttered and some hearts skipped a beat when we heard the silky smooth tones captured in the boys’ rendition of the song, leaving fans desperate to hear more.

    Yes… You guessed right, here’s our cover of @cleanbandit and @JessGlynne's #RatherBe.

Even X Factor 2016 winner, Matt Terry, was impressed by the lads’ latest musical offering.
