This week marks CelebMix’s fifth birthday so we’ve decided to celebrate by dedicating articles to some of our favourite celebrities. This one is all about Adam Lambert and his performances.
There is no doubt that Adam Lambert is a sensational performer. Ever since he stepped out on the American Idol stage in 2009, he has proven to be incredibly captivating with the ability to deliver show stopping extravaganzas and stripped back, emotion-filled offerings.
We’ve decided to take a look back at some of Adam’s performances in recent years by sharing five of our favourites with you.
‘Superpower’ at One World: Together at Home
Adam took part in the global One World: Together At Home live stream in aid of the COVID-19 crisis. Surrounded by plants, he put on a groovy performance of ‘Superpower’, taken from his Velvet album. Highlighting his vocal range, Adam put on a total rockstar performance from the comfort of his home and we are living for it.
‘Feel Something’ live session
The release of ‘Feel Something’ marked a new beginning for Adam, with the superstar opening up about wanting to feel again. He performed a beautiful live session of ‘Feel Something’, which truly heightened the emotion of the song whilst exposing his vulnerability. Supported by four backing singers who add a gospel tinge to the chorus, this performance is simply mesmerising.
‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ at Fire Fight Australia
Adam Lambert has been performing with Queen for a number of years now, with the band touring their iconic songs across the world. During the Fire Fight Australia Benefit Concert, Adam and Queen performed the band’s memorable 1985 Live Aid set, which included ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. We love this performance so much, and with such mind blowing vocals and stage presence, we’re sure that Adam does Freddie Mercury proud every time he steps out on stage with Queen.
‘Believe’ at the 41st Annual Kennedy Center Honors
Adam was invited to perform at the 41st Annual Kennedy Center Honors and paid tribute to Cher by performing a stripped back rendition of her hit ‘Believe’. Showcasing his powerhouse vocals, the rousing performance was full of emotion, with Cher leading a standing ovation for the star. She later tweeted that her senses were overwhelmed following the performance, and tbh we couldn’t agree more. His performance was spine-tinglingly stunning.
‘Whataya Want from Me’ from YouTube Space New York
Back in 2019, Adam performed a live set from the YouTube Space in New York. One of the songs from his set was the incredible ‘Whataya Want From Me’ and in all honesty we’re completely in love with this performance. The power and emotion is on another level and Adam gives every inch of this song his all – including that show stopping final note. We also love that he’s accompanied by an all-female band, which is a fairly rare sight.
