Ant and Dec are without doubt the greatest presenters and TV personalities the UK has to offer. Their cheeky chappy attitude endears them to both the young and the old. They have been in the industry for so long yet fans still love them and their TV shows are always the highest rated. So maybe it’s time that our favourite double act became Sirs?
Here are 5 reasons why Ant and Dec deserve to be Knighted as soon as possible.
1: They have been in the entertainment industry for 25 years.
Not many people have had such a long and successful careers in the cut-throat showbiz world but these Geordie’s are more popular now than ever before. Everything they touch turns to gold and programmes are desperate to sign the pair up to present their shows. They make a very hard job look super easy. The fact that they have lasted more than two decades in this kind of industry is absolutely incredible and needs to be recognised and celebrated.
2: They are Royalists.
Ant and Dec are both big fans of the Royal family and they have been heavily involved in the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations. The pair hosted the special celebration concert for the Queen earlier this month showing once again how much they respect our Royal family.
3: They are charitable.
Not only are the double act extremely likeable and talented but they are also very charitable as well. The generous pair are patrons of an incredible seven charities; The Alan Shearer Foundation. Colts and Fillies. Cash For Kids. Children’s Heart Unit Fund. St Cuthberts Care. Sunshine Fund. We 4 Youth. The kind pair are also ambassadors for three charities; ChildLine. NSPCC. Prince’s Trust. Their incredible work with these foundations help save and change many lives.
4: They are not just presenters.
And and Dec may be best known for their extensive presenting work but the lovable duo first made a name for themselves as actors on Byker Grove playing PJ and Duncan. The pair also released a string of top 10 singles as their Byker Groves characters. Their famous hit record ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’ even topped the charts back in 2013 after they performed the track on their show ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’.
5: They have won countless awards.
The TV double act have picked up countless awards for their presenting, making them the most successful presenters in UK TV history. They hold the record for the most NTA’s for ‘Most Popular Entertainment/TV Presenter’ winning a staggering 14 in a row. The duo have also picked up an incredible 13 BAFTA’s and have also been awarded the NTA Landmark Award in celebration of their 25th year in the business.
