They might be multimillionaires with houses on all four corners of the globe, but the world’s biggest stars are more like you and me than we might have first thought. Sure, they can fly wherever they want to at the drop of a hat, head to the shopping mall for as many shopping sprees as they so desire, and hang out with their superstar friends, but the chances are that they want to wind down and relax when they’re not working. Below, we’ve put together some of the things our favourite stats do in their free time to keep themselves busy and occupied.
Painting
There are so many benefits to painting. Not only is it relaxing and helps you wind down, but it allows you to express yourself and indeed create some beautiful memories and artwork in the process. You might be surprised to learn that celebrities such as David Bowie, Johnny Depp, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Carrey, and Stevie Nicks are avid painters, showcasing their art with the world. Marilyn Monroe, for instance, painted a delicate watercolour of a rose and sent it to President John F. Kennedy as a gift. Paintings can be beautiful and very personal.
Playing games
Gaming is another popular pastime that celebrities enjoy, and whether it’s a quick flick through candy crush or a game like Daily Jackpot Slots where celebrities can bet with real money and play amongst others, it’s easy to see why gaming is good fun. It allows stars to immerse themselves into new worlds and become different people – it doesn’t matter whether you’re a billionaire or an Average Joe; you’ll still get the same excitement when you’re placing a bet or paying on slot machines online. Even better if you end up winning!
Working out
Let’s face it, you don’t get a body like The Rock without working out every day. Whether they are asked to take their tops off during photoshoots or they simply want to stay trim and healthy, you’ll likely find that most celebrities have a gym in their home and a personal trainer to keep them motivated and engaged. Working out can be good fun when you have the right surroundings and set yourself realistic goals; whether they’re toning up for a new movie or they simply need to stay agile for their next stage job, working out makes sense.
Writing
From writing their next number one single to jotting down their most important life events to create their own autobiographies, writing is another popular pastime for some of the world’s biggest celebs. Some end up taking on new careers like Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams, who’s forged a successful side hustle as a children’s author. Though not every star has been successful, putting pen to paper can be a great way to spend an afternoon.
Volunteering
Something you don’t hear about every day is that some of the world’s most respected artists and musicians volunteer at charities and events. From packing supplies to help refugees like Lady Gaga, to hosting their own charity balls to raise much-needed funds for those in need like Elton John, our favourite performers are always thinking of others. When you have so much money and so much free time, being able to give back is no doubt super rewarding.
