A few days ago, R&B/rap artist Acebergtm released his brand-new single/lyric video for “Danca,” a track lifted from his forthcoming EP, Far From Home, slated to drop April 16 via SJW Entertainment.
Speaking to the upcoming EP, Acebergtm shares, “As a kid growing up in a city populated with creatives, ‘Far From Home’ was inspired by the thought of me trying to be abstract. As a rapper trying to show more versatility and fitting into my own niche in the music industry. The EP represents a journey, untold stories, and the passion for being extraordinary.”
Far From Home rolls out on amalgamations of Afropop, R&B, Afrobeats, and Amapiano, making it simultaneously subtle, potent, and posh.
Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Acebergtm grew up immersed in a wide variety of music genres, followed by a strong fascination with hip-hop, identifying Wyclef Jean as one of his major influences. Passionate about writing and poetry, he eventually began writing his own songs when only 15 years old. Later, he moved into the studio circuit, connecting with producers and artists, like Kel P, Phantom and Tempoe, WineXroll, JFred, Fredibeat, Oshobeats, Mcomms, and Graydon.
As he started rapping and singing in Nigeria, he fashioned and created his unique sound, a cool, inimitable sound reflecting his myriad influences and his low-slung, velvety seductive voice.
“Danca” opens on emerging tones full of tropical hints – tints of Afropop, Amapiano, jazz, and bewitching R&B textures. A polyrhythmic beat gives the tune a stylish flow, vaguely reminiscent of the sophisti-pop of Sade, erotic, exotic, and tantalizingly hypnotic.
With his smoldering, sensual tones, Acebergtm infuses the lyrics with glossy timbres guaranteed to enthrall and entice. There’s a wicked beguiling savor to his smooth voice, at once charming, persuasive, and alluring.
Acebergtm definitely has it going on! Voluptuous and luxurious, “Danca” attracts listeners from the first trembling notes, promising a superb EP.
