Funnyman Alan Carr has been given a brand new chat show by Channel 4 after his late-night show ‘Chatty Man’ struggled in the ratings war after been moved from Friday to Thursday nights.
But it’s not all bad news for Carr, who has now been given a brand new pre-watershed talk show called ‘Happy Hour’.
The new chat show will follow a similar format as Chatty Man with lots of to celebrity guests and live music but for the first time the comedic presenter will have to watch his language as ‘Happy Hour’ will be on much earlier in the night. There will also be no alcohol on the new talk show unlike Chatty Man where Alan and his guest regularly boozed throughout the interview.
A channel 4 insider spoke to The Sun about Carr’s switch from late night to pre-watershed, saying: “It’s going to be on much earlier at night to introduce him to a new audience, so there won’t be any drinking with guests. But there’ll be loads of other shenanigans with celebrities like crazy games.
Despite Chatty Man being taken off air it has not been axed, the insider revealed: “Chatty Man isn’t being axed and could still come back, but this is a new show that everyone is excited about to set Alan up for the future.
Alan Carr’s Happy Hour is set to be on air later this year.
