ALBUM REVIEW: Jarrod Dickenson ‘Ready The Horses’

Texas born singer/songwriter Jarrod Dickenson is back with his eagerly anticipated new album ‘Ready The Horses‘. Here we review the new LP from Dickenson which is out now;

The album opens with ‘Faint Of Heart’ which is heavy with country and western vibes although it’s a little slow to get going, Jarrod’s Texan twang adds something a little special. It won’t be to everyone’s taste but it is a rather catchy tune.

Other tracks on the LP include ‘Take It From Me’, ‘In The Meantime’, and the hit single ‘California’. These songs are at the core of the record while ‘Your Heart Belongs To Me’ is the absolute standout on the whole album. The added female vocals add a sweet layer and the gorgeous lyrics make it a really beautiful love song.

Overall ‘Ready The Horses’ is a rather steady collection of songs that are good but lack a little on production. Although others may find it an absolute gem of a record for me it’s a little too slow in places.

RATING: 3/5
